Best oral care for braces & orthodontics

For cleaning around brackets and wires, start with the zero brush — its compact round head and spiral silk PBT reach right under the archwire.

Fixed braces trap plaque exactly where a normal brush can't reach: the gaps under the wire, around each bracket, and in the widened spaces between teeth. The fix is a small-headed brush that gets under the wire, a floss or interdental brush sized for the bracket gaps, and a remineralising toothpaste to protect enamel while cleaning is harder. Pick by the tightness of your spaces: expanding floss for snug contacts, interdental brushes where there's room.

Das Experten evolution kids

For young patients in braces, evolution kids uses CPP-ACP (Recaldent™) to repair early enamel lesions — the white-spot demineralisation that starts around brackets when plaque sits — while Bacillus coagulans probiotics help keep the young mouth balanced.

Das Experten zero

The zero brush is built for braces: a compact round head plus spiral silk PBT filaments that slip under the archwire and around each bracket, cleaning the exact spots a flat brush head skips.

Das Experten aktiv

If your gums bleed or feel sore from orthodontic irritation, aktiv's ultra-soft DuPont Tynex® conical filaments clean around brackets gently — the same reason it suits pregnancy and bleeding gums.

Das Experten expanding

Threaded under the wire, expanding floss is a hydrophilic multifilament that blooms 2–3× in the gap to fill the widened, mixed contacts braces create, wiping plaque the brush leaves behind.

Das Experten interdental

Where there's room beside a bracket, the interdental brush (S / M) has a stainless core with polymer filaments that sweep the sides of teeth, crowns and braces in one pass — often faster than threading floss.

FAQ

How do I stop white spots around my brackets?

White spots are early enamel demineralisation from plaque left near brackets. Clean under the wire daily (zero brush plus floss or interdental brushes) and use a remineralising paste with CPP-ACP (Recaldent™) like evolution kids to repair early lesions. If spots are already visible, ask your orthodontist.

Floss or interdental brush for braces?

Both work — pick by space. Use expanding floss for tight contacts where a brush won't fit; it blooms 2–3× to fill the gap. Use the interdental brush (S / M) where there's room beside the bracket, since it's quicker to sweep than threading floss under the wire.

My gums bleed since getting braces — is that normal?

Some bleeding is common early on as gums adjust and cleaning is harder. Switch to an ultra-soft brush like aktiv (DuPont Tynex® conical) and keep cleaning gently rather than stopping. If bleeding is persistent or worsening after a couple of weeks, see your dentist or orthodontist.

Can kids in braces use these products?

Yes. evolution kids is formulated for ages 3–14 and orthodontic use, and the zero and aktiv brushes suit smaller mouths. Supervise younger children with floss and interdental brushes until they can handle them under the wire on their own.
